Job 1:5 – When these celebrations ended—sometimes after several days—Job would purify his children. He would get up early in the morning and offer a burnt offering for each of them. For Job said to himself, “Perhaps my children have sinned and have cursed God in their hearts.” This was Job’s regular practice.
This is a thought I had this morning while driving my nieces to school:
Job was a blameless and upright man. He respected and feared God and he didn’t welcome evilness in his life. We’ve heard many accounts of how he suffered during his trial. But seldom is mentioned about how much he loved his family. Job was a great father who loved his children. In Job 1:5, he would sacrifice a burnt offering just in case his children had sinned and cursed God in their hearts.
All parents and guardians need to be mindful of this practice. We should always go to the Lord and ask Him to forgive our children, no matter what their age is. We should intercede for them and ask the Lord to have mercy on them.
Job has sent a message from the scriptures to all parents, especially fathers. Send up a sacrifice of prayer just in case your children are doing things that threaten their eternal soul. I’m a witness that he will change adverse situations for them.
