1915 – Carter G Woodson ~

(the father of Black history) founded the Association for the Study of Negro Life and History.

Carter Godwin Woodson was an African-American historian, author, journalist and the founder of the Association for the Study of African American Life and History. Woodson was one of the first scholars to study African-American history.

1957 – President Eisenhower ~

Passed the first civil rights bill to pass Congress since reconstruction.

1968 – Arthur Ashe ~

becomes first Black US men’s Singles Tennis Champion.

Arthur Robert Ashe, Jr. was an American World No. 1 professional tennis player. He won three Grand Slam titles, ranking him among the best tennis players from the United States
