And the Lord said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? – Job 1:8
Everywhere we turn we see disregard for what God intended this place we call earth to be. It doesn’t take long to see that His order isn’t weakened, but it is shunned by mankind, each one living and doing what seems right but it’s leading to destruction.
One day the angels went to present themselves before the Lord and Satan showed up too. When God asked Satan where He came from Satan told Him he was roaming, going back and forth. In other words he was looking for somebody to tempt and later destroy. (1 Peter 5:8) God asked Satan did he look at Job. Then God, like a proud father who’s son is the star athlete for his school, said; “There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright.” Then God qualifies blameless and upright by saying Job fears the Lord and shuns evil.
To this day Satan’s influence is going back and forth looking for someone to tempt and then destroy. People are being tempted to accept adultery, fornication, lesbianism, homosexuality, hatred, envy, lying, stealing, idolatry, witchcraft, voodoo and the list goes on. But can God consider us to stand in the face of all this? Can He tell the enemy that we, the ones who say we’re believers and following His will, will remain blameless and upright because we fear our God and will shun evil?
God knows what we will or won’t do. It’s not like He has to hold His breath when He sees Satan tempting us, crossing His fingers, hoping we will make it through. So when He endorses us the way He did Job, He knows we’ll survive the test like Job did.
Can God endorse you? Father God I am praying that you can endorse me and everyone that reads this blog when it comes to standing on your word in the face of all the turmoil and evil living going on in this dying world. I pray for more wisdom and strength to go through what Satan will try to do so we will give up and curse you. In the name of Jesus – Amen.
