I’m sitting at my laptop writing this post in the midst of a tornado watch that has a good chance of being updated to a warning. It’s kind of unusual for this time of year. While I hear the rain falling and listen to the weather report coming over the weather radio I have, I started thinking. And this passage came to mind:
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.– Romans 8:38-39
No matter what storm is predicted to come, we should be assured and rooted in our faith in the Lord enough to know that we will always be secure in the love of God through His Son Jesus. If a storm comes through and wrecks everything we have worked to build, we still have Jesus! If it comes and rearranges every detail of our life, we am still residing in the love of my Heavenly Father. If a storm comes and turns our family, friends and fellow believers against us, we are still connected through love. As long as we want to it to be this way, nothing will ever rip us from the love of God.
Matthew 8:27 – The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!”
