1 Timothy 6:6-7 – But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it.
Today I am thankful for shelter, food, clothing, employment, life, strength and sound mind. At times it can be difficult to not want a bigger house, fancier cars, fashionable clothes, better jobs, more money, more this and more that. But we have to trust that God has a reason for us not getting all the things we want. Maybe if we had a lot of money, we would spend less time with the Lord. Or maybe if we had that newer car, we would become arrogant and less friendly to the less fortunate.
For whatever reason I don’t have more than what I have, I trust in God and know it is a good reason. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, I can be content, focusing on the things of God, with what I have and where I am. Besides. I can’t take none of this stuff with me anyway.
