There’s physical slavery. And there’s spiritual slavery. If a man tried to make us a slave in a field we would fight them to the end. But we seldom put up a fight when Satan tempts us to become his spiritual slave. We resist the bondage of physical sin, but seem to welcome spiritual sin because the master of deception has deceived us into thinking spiritual sin is pleasant, when really it brings a wage that is eternal death.
God has made it so easy to resist sin. If its hard for anyone to resist sin, it’s because they don’t want to turn it loose. All we have to do is submit and resist. Are you going to resist your eternal spiritual slavemaster and submit to Jesus, the one who will set you free?
32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
33 They answered him, “We are Abraham’s descendants and have never been slaves of anyone. How can you say that we shall be set free?”
34 Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin.
Romans 6:23 – For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
James 4:7 – Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
